About Us
Restored Hearing Ltd. is based on the North-West coast of Ireland in County Sligo. Our team of directors is comprised of Rhona Togher, Anthony Carolan and Eimear O' Carroll, all of whom have a background in physics. We have been working together for a number of years and have put in many hours of work when it comes to tinnitus research and alleviation. We began working together as part of a project on sound localisation in January 2007 and have been continually involved in research ever since.
Our first major breakthrough in sound therapy for tinnitus sufferers took the form of a project for the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition in 2009. As part of the project we developed a therapy for people suffering tinnitus on a temporary basis for example directly after a concert, disco or listening to an mp3 player. After one minute of our therapy 99% of the candidates that we tested said that their tinnitus was gone. The project received huge attention from tinnitus sufferers and sympathisers alike and we were fortunate enough to receive 2nd prize overall in the competition and to win an award for medical innovation too.
Encouraged by the enormous response we received and aware of the unprecedented success of our therapy we made the decision in early 2009 to further develop our sound therapy to make it available to as many tinnitus sufferers as possible. Never ones to forget where we began, we are continually carrying out research into the effects of our therapy on long term tinnitus sufferers in the hope that we will witness positive changes in this area also.
